We thought we were reporting really big news last week when we wrote to you about our nomination for the D CEO Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards 2019.  This week we have even bigger news.

We won.

I am somewhat known for my candor, so in the interest of full disclosure, we released a blog last week to highlight the nomination, as we did not expect to win in a group of Corporate Leadership Excellence finalists that included Bank of America, CBRE and Cristo Rey Dallas, and Fiserv.  We are truly honored to be in the same company as these businesses that have made community such a focus.  They understand – like we do – that running a successful business is a privilege, and that a healthy and vibrant community is a benefit to all of us.

Being a small company, this award is particularly meaningful to us.  Large successful companies have resources and staff that they can choose to direct towards philanthropic initiatives.  As so many of our entrepreneur clients know, small companies require hyper-efficiency with both time and money.  It is impossible to lead a company and serve the community without a strong, dependable team that embraces serving both our clients and our community with the same passion that you do, so we consider the Corporate Leadership Excellence award a victory for the whole team at Brennan Financial Services.  I am also deeply appreciative of Communities Foundation of Texas for partnering with us in bringing our corporate philanthropy to life through its CFT4B program, and to Children’s Health and United Way of Metropolitan Dallas for giving me a seat at the table.

One of our favorite events each year is our Family Service Day, where we volunteer at North Texas Food Bank.   This year we will serve on August 24, 9:00 - 11:30, at the Perot Family Campus in Plano.  To support our company’s philanthropy, you and your friends and family can join us by signing up here.

The D CEO Nonprofit and Corporate Citizenship Awards recipients are chosen by the editors of D CEO Magazine. Selection is based on professionals and organizations in the nonprofit world that make a positive impact on the community as well as corporations that support local nonprofits through executives volunteering their time on boards to lending support through financial donations, in-kind services, and sponsorships. Third-party rankings and recognitions are not a guarantee of future investment success and do not ensure that a client or prospective client will experience a higher level of performance or results. These ratings should not be construed as an endorsement of the advisor by any client nor are they representative of any one client’s evaluation.
